[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”12312″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]June 4, 2021 – Hundreds of curious locals lined the shore Friday morning as a giant cruise ship sailed into Port Canaveral for the first time.  The Mardi Gras is the largest ship in the fleet of Carnival Cruise Lines, with a passenger capacity of 5,282 and a crew of 1,745.  It’s also 1,130 feet long, weighs 180,800 tons and has 17 passenger decks. Port Canaveral is only 25 minutes from Viera.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”12316″ img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Delivering on an improved carbon footprint, the ship is powered by liquefied natural gas, the first LNG-powered ship to sail from America. The ship’s new home port will be Port Canaveral’s Cruise Terminal 3, a $155 million addition to the port that has been waiting for conditions to once again be ready for cruising.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”12314″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Potential passengers are eagerly awaiting the announcement of Mari Gras sail dates.  The ship features a huge atrium with ocean views, six themed zones with a variety of entertainment options and is the first cruise ship to boast a sea-going roller coaster.  The Bolt: Ultimate Sea Coaster is so large that it will be easily seen from shore while the ship is in port.
